Logan Museum to host traveling Smithsonian exhibit in 2021

The General John A. Logan Museum in Murphysboro has been selected to host the Smithsonian Institution exhibit "Voices and Votes: Democracy In America" in 2021.

The Illinois Humanities Council chose the Murphysboro museum to display this latest "Museum on Main Street" exhibition from April 17 to May 29, 2021.

"Voices and Votes: Democracy in America" addresses the origins of America's democratic system, the expansion of the right to vote, the electoral process, civic participation, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens.

The exhibit includes historical and contemporary photos, educational and archival video, and historical objects including campaign souvenirs, voter memorabilia and protest material. Admission will be free.
