Regina L. “Jeannie” Davison of Du Quoin
Regina L. "Jeannie" Davison, 87, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Fairview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.
Jeannie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin and sang in the church choir.
She was born May 25, 1932 at Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Regina (Stepson) Burdel.
Jeannie married John William Davison on April 18, 1955 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2013.
She is survived by six children, Suzan (Mark) Day of Du Quoin, Jane (Al) Bongo of Clearwater, Florida, Joann (Eddie) Eisenhauer of Du Quoin, John Davison Jr. of Temple, Georgia, James Davison (Jackie Gassel) of Du Quoin and David Davison of Johnston City; her sister, Martha (Jack) Burnett of Troy, Illinois; her brother, Bernie (Tami) Burdel of Du Quoin; 11 grandchildren, Tyler (Maegan) King of Du Quoin, Christopher King of Mulkeytown, Travis (Amanda) Lowe of Knoxville, Tennessee, Brandon Lowe of Du Quoin, Justin (Jayci) Day of Carbondale, Jordan Day of Carterville, Christina Davison of Christopher, Cortney (Jack) Legan of Equality, Matthew Davison of Denver, Colorado, Daniel Davison of Carterville and Jacob Davison of Johnston City; eight great-grandchildren, Dominic Grogan, Connor Grogan, Lucas Grogan, Landon Lowe, Joshua Lowe, Beau Legan, Tatum Legan and Harper King; sister-in-law, Pat Burdel of Du Quoin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Steve King; sister Cynthia Burdel; three brothers, Richard Burdel, Tom Burdel and Eugene Burdel; and sister-in-law Nina Burdel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
