Lowell Bud' Henson of Marion
Bud Henson, age 80, of Marion, passed away at 1:41 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020 at Integrity Healthcare of Marion, surrounded by his loving family.
Born Lowell Lee Henson in Creal Springs, Illinois on May 5, 1939, the son of Loren "Knub" and Georgia Lee (White) Henson, he married Janette Fay Long in Centralia on Aug. 9, 1975. She survives in Marion.
Bud was a member of the Christian Covenant Church in Carterville. He was retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation where he had worked as a civil engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Henson of Marion; a son, Doug (Deborah) Corzine of Franklin, Tennessee; a daughter, Cris (Nathan) Corzine-McCloskey of Marion; son, Derek (Emily) Henson of University City, Missouri; loved as a son, Brian Rich of Marion; three grandchildren, Thomas, Zachary and Samuel Henson of University City, Missouri; a sister, Delores (Dave) Gleckler of Salem; a brother, Ron Henson of Freeport; four nephews, David DeMaris of Austin, Texas, Dana DeMaris of Centralia, C.J. Holthaus of Round Rock, Texas and Quinn Henson of Houston, Texas; and a niece, Melody Henson of Freeport.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at the Christian Covenant Church in Carterville with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at Christian Covenant Church in Carterville.
For those who prefer, memorial donations are suggested to the Caring Counseling Ministries or Agape Christian School, both in Marion. These will be accepted at the church or the funeral home.
