Tamara McClure Kirkover of Du Quoin

Tamara McClure Kirkover, 75, of Du Quoin, Illinois, born on Feb. 9, 1944 in Danville, Illinois to Thomas and Helen (nee Smith) Atchison, passed away on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019 at home.

She married Gary McClure and later Richard Kirkover.

Tamara was of the Catholic faith. She loved to crochet, make ceramic art and cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helen Atchison.

She is survived by her three children, Gary Todd McClure of Tallahassee, Florida, Tonya McClure of Tallahassee and Tori McClure McDonald of Du Quoin; three grandchildren, Hunter McClure of Tallahassee, Rylea McDonald of Du Quoin and Jessica McClure of Tallahassee; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Rhonda Sternberg of Chester, Illinois and Kathy Pinkerton of Murphysboro, Illinois; three nieces, a nephew, two great-nieces and five great-nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

For visitation, friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, with Father Gene Wojcik officiating.
