Carmen Neverna Wilson of Harrisburg

Carmen Neverna Wilson, 60, of Harrisburg died at 2:53 p.m. Thursday Sept. 5, 2019 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday Sept. 13, 2019 at Harvest Deliverance Center in Harrisburg. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg and the Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is entrusted with the services.

Carmen was born to Clifford and Neverna B. Wilson on Feb. 13, 1959 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. She was the second child of six children (five girls and one boy). Carmen graduated from Morganfield High School in Kentucky. She then received her certification as a CNA and was also a licensed security officer.

She spent majority of her life devoted to family. Although she never had children of her own, Carmen was a foster mother for more than 50 children in the Kansas City area. With her strong will and leadership qualities, she was a cornerstone within her family. She professed a hope in Christ while young and was a faithful Christian.

She leaves to mourn her mother, Neverna Jones; four sisters, Angela, LaSonya, Tonya and Sydney; one brother, Christopher; two half-sisters, Ronda and Tanya; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Wilson; stepfather, Excel Butler; and brother, William (Junior).
