Randall Ray Barnard of Eldorado
Randall Ray Barnard, 95, of Eldorado, passed away July 22, 2019 in the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi surrounded by his family.
Ray was born in Cave-In-Rock, Illinois, on Aug. 12, 1923 to the late Gentry and Myra (Milligan) Barnard.
He retired as an end-loader operator at the Rigsby and Barnard Rock Quarry. He was a member of the IUOE Local #318 and a member of the Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church.
On Jan. 18, 1946 he married the former Rose Marie Kaylor and she preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2019.
Ray is survived by his sons, Terry (Debie) Barnard of Cave-In-Rock and Randy (Judith) Barnard of Cave-In-Rock; daughters Gail (Doug) Thompson of Raleigh, Diann (James) Grace of Eldorado, Linda Rigsby of Ft. Myers, Florida, Teresa (Bill) Hanley of Eldorado and Cynthia (Danny) Matlock of Springville, Alabama; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Laura (Bill) Switzer; a brother, Bill (Norma) Barnard; and a sister-in-law, June Kaylor.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Barnard; three brothers, Rad Barnard, Winfred Barnard and Jesse Barnard; and three sisters, Verdna Austin, Irene Kaegi and Opal Frailey.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Danny Matlock, Doug Thompson and Pastor Mike Fields (Wabash Christian Retirement Center) officiating.
Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
