Glenn L. Phillips of Goreville
Glenn L. Phillips, 94, of Goreville and formerly of New Burnside, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday July 11, at his residence.
Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday. Cremation will follow, and burial will be in Drake Cemetery at a later date.
Glenn was born on Oct. 3, 1924 in Marion to the late Harvey and Etta (Conley) Phillips.
He was a World War II Navy veteran. He later retired as a civilian employee of the U.S. Army.
Glenn is survived by four children, Glenda (Paul) Griner of Goreville, Sherry (Robert) Plyler of New Burnside, Terry (Paula) Phillips of Cordova, Alaska and Robin Baker of Whittier, Alaska; a sister, Geraldine Drew of Vienna; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Phillips; and three sisters, Wilma Shaw, Violet Phillips and Fay Simmons.
