George M. Przygoda of Pinckneyville
George M. Przygoda, 70, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
George worked in mine construction, and also was a welder and fabricator. Most recently he was the assistant superintendent at the Nashville Golf Course.
He was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill. George was a United States Army veteran. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed refurbishing used parts, was a junk artist, and made lawn furniture from implement parts.
George loved his family, especially his grandkids.
He was born April 29, 1949 at Pinckneyville, the son of Ralph A. and Regina (Jozwiak) Przygoda.
He married Judith E. Hagene on Aug. 19, 1972 at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville and she survives.
He is survived by his wife, Judith, of Pinckneyville; four children, Michael (Angela) Przygoda of Pinckneyville, Amanda (John) White of Du Quoin, Christopher Przygoda of Pinckneyville, and Elizabeth (Matthew) Kremer of Du Quoin; three sisters, Rosemary Jones of Pinckneyville, Jeanette Pedtke of DuBois and Marie (Murray) Williams of Louisville, Kentucky; seven brothers, Raymond (Carol) Przygoda of Pinckneyville, Ronald (Margaret) Przygoda of Tamaroa, Joseph (Beverly) Przygoda of Mt. Vernon, Donald (Megan) Przygoda of Charleston, Illinois, Ralph (Margaret) Przygoda of Tamaroa, James Przygoda of Pinckneyville and Stanley (Laura) Przygoda of Royalton; seven grandchildren, Cruze Przygoda, Jace Przygoda, Alyssa White, Kinley White, Calvin White, Carrigan Kremer and Easton Kremer.
George was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Matthew Przygoda; one sister-in-law, Patricia Przygoda and one brother-in-law, Eugene Pedtke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill, with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill.
Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery at Todds Mill. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.
Friends may make memorials to an education fund for his grandchildren with donations made payable to Judith Przygoda. These will be accepted at the funeral home.
