Lowell 'Dink' Lear of Marion
MARION - Lowell D. "Dink" Lear, 85, of Marion, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
He was born Oct. 17, 1933 in Marion to Frank and Maxine (Howard) Lear. Lowell married Billee Dean Ozment on March 31, 1956 in Marion. She preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2018. Together, they shared 62 wonderful years. Lowell is survived by his sister-in-law, Genevieve McMillan, of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billee Dean Lear; sister, Lois Krivanko; and brother, Gary Lear.
Lowell was a member of the First Church of God in Herrin.
He retired after 25 years of service as a machinist for Fabick Caterpillar in Marion.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of God in Herrin Building Fund.
Memorial services for both Lowell and Billee will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 19 at the First Church of God in Herrin, with the Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
