Barbara McCollum of Du Quoin

DU QUOIN - Barbara M. McCollum, 83, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Barbara had been a homemaker. She had worked at the glove factory in Murphysboro and was store manager at Handee Mart in Pinckneyville. She was of the Baptist faith. Barbara was a member of the Du Quoin V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Du Quoin American Legion Auxiliary.

She was born July 22, 1935 in Carbondale, the daughter of Herl and Irene (Bennett) Klump.

She married Charles McCollum on July 7, 1988 in Paducah, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2007.

Barbara is survived by one son, Kristopher Watson, and wife, Julie, of Du Quoin; one stepdaughter, Beth McCollum Williams, of Du Quoin; seven grandchildren: J.J. Miller, Jennifer Miller, Braden Watson, Braylee Watson, Aubrey Watson, Caleb Williams and Collin Williams; and two great-granddaughters, Loralei Miller and Delyth Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Karen Watson, and three brothers - Lloyd Ray Klump, William "Bud" Klump, and Harold Eugene Klump.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Charles Allen officiating.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Du Quoin V.F.W. Auxiliary or the Du Quoin American Legion Auxiliary and will be accepted at the funeral home.
