Terry Lynn Norman of Joelton, Tennessee
Terry Lynn Norman, of Joelton, Tennessee and a lifelong music educator, died April 17, 2019 at age 64. She was born March 30, 1955.
Ms. Norman taught public school music and elementary education, first in Illinois and retiring in 2012 from East Cheatham Elementary School in Cheatham County, Tennessee.
She served in music ministries at the McKendree United Methodist Church in Hermitage, Tennessee and was the organist at the Ashland City United Methodist Church and St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Joelton.
Terry held bachelor's and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University, a Tennessee Education Administrative certification, and attended the Westminster Choir College at Princeton, New Jersey.
She was an accomplished oboist, pianist and a dedicated piano teacher to countless youth.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Shirley E. (Lambert) Norman.
She is survived by her sisters, Mrs. Nancy Norman Medlin (Paul) of Franklin, Tennessee and Mrs. Kristy Norman Boulds (Tom) of Eldorado; nieces Lindsay Blaire Medlin and Samantha Jo Boulds; her nephew, Jeromy Robert Boulds; several cousins and many beloved friends, teaching colleagues and students.
To honor Terry's last wishes, an ocean internment of cremated remains and a Celebration of Life will be held with family and friends at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg, the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
