Edith L. Cutright of Macedonia

Edith L. Cutright, 90, a resident of Macedonia, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

She was born Jan. 11, 1929 in Hamilton County to William John and Flora Ellen (Sullivan) Cutright. A member of the Antioch Baptist Church, Edith was a retired registered nurse, having worked in hospitals in St. Louis and Franklin Hospital in Benton.

Edith is survived by one nephew, Morris Smith and wife Tonna of Troy; and three nieces, Dorothy Sherley and husband Norval Clay of Macedonia, Marilyn M. Morris and husband Bill of Montgomery, Texas, and Judith Ann Galloway and husband Jack of Gilman. Several great-nieces and -nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John H. Cutright; two sisters, Mary Smith and Velma Johnson; and two brothers-in-law, Dawain Smith and Donald Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Gale Lowery officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. She will be laid to rest at the Antioch Cemetery near Macedonia following the funeral service.
