Jackie Dean Overstreet of Carrier Mills
Jackie Dean Overstreet, 79, of Carrier Mills, died at 10:02 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday until service time. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Salem Cemetery. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Jack was born on Dec. 15, 1939 in Saline County to the late Cecil and Juanita (Johnson) Overstreet.
He married the former Mary Pyle on Jan. 6, 1962, and she survives.
Jack was a retired coal miner. He worked most of his career at the Will Scarlet mine in Carrier Mills and later on at a couple other mines after Will Scarlet closed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Overstreet of Carrier Mills; a daughter, Kim (Randy) Futch of Carrier Mills; a grandson, Ryan Overstreet of Princeton, Indiana; two brothers, George (Rita) Overstreet of Stonefort and James "Jim" Overstreet of Carrier Mills; and a sister, Mary (James) Pennell of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian Scott Overstreet; a daughter, Sonya Lynn Overstreet; and two brothers, John Overstreet and Cecil "Butch" Overstreet.
