Peggy S. Gee of Stonefort

Peggy S. Gee, age 71, of Stonefort, passed away Feb. 1, 2019 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin.

She was born April 23, 1947 to the late James and Rosalea (Beal) Travis in Harrisburg. Peggy married Norman Gee in December of 1981. He preceded her in death in February 2016.

She was a licensed practical nurse and worked at several hospitals including Doctors Hospital, Harrisburg Medical Center and Western Baptist. Peggy loved her pets, sewing, gardening, baking and hunting with Norman.

Peggy is survived by her son, Rusty and wife Karen Alexander of Harrisburg; her daughter, Robin Johnston of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Cody (Nicole) Sowels, Courtney Sowels and Brett Buchanan; three great-grandchildren, Drake, Tucker and Kori; and a sister, Sharon (Charlie) McDonald of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Norman Gee.

A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Delwood. The Rev. Bob Patton will conduct the service.
