Harry Frederick McLain, formerly of Equality

Harry Frederick McLain, 93, of Florissant, Missouri, formerly of Equality, passed away on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at the Cottages of Lake St. Louis in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born on Dec. 25, 1925 in Equality, the only child of the late Dorsey and Lucy (Miller) McLain.

Frederick married Margaret Lou Frohock on Nov. 30, 1949. Margaret preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2013.

He was employed by Monsanto, where he worked for more than 40 years.

Frederick proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a brother-in-law to Dorothy Williams, Pat Frohock, Charlotte Frohock, Wanda (Harry) Claywell, Don (Nayna) Frohock, Ronald (Eunice) Frohock, Kay Whittley (the late George Frohock), Henry Frohock and William Whittley; and the dear uncle of 15 nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was a cherished friend to many.

Memorial visitation at will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 1, 2019, at Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant. There will be a service at 8 p.m.

A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.

Military rites will be performed by Ridgway American Legion and the U.S. Navy Military Honors Team.

Vickery Funeral Chapel of Equality is in charge of local arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridgway American Legion Post 596, 206 S. Murphy, Ridgway, IL 62979.
