Vera Anderson Bigham of Pinckneyville
Vera Anderson Bigham, 82, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018 at the Coulterville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Vera was born on Jan. 26, 1936 in Paris, Illinois, to Herman Frederick and Alfie Ellen (Adams) Chapman.
She married Richard Eugene Anderson in Tamaroa on Jan. 16, 1954 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1990. On Aug. 5, 1994, she married Robert D. Bigham in Pinckneyville, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2010.
She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville. She loved cooking, shopping, organizing family get-togethers and enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia (Rick) Greten of Oakdale; three sons, Steve (Joyce) Anderson, Kevin Anderson and Chuck (Stephanie) Anderson; three brothers, Donald (Louise) Chapman, Richard Chapman and Roger Chapman; eight grandchildren: Chris Anderson, Gene (Shannon) Anderson, Alisha (Donnie) Shockley, Lyna (Blake) Rutherford, Dr. Lindsey (Darren) Bailey, Dr. Clint (Annalise) Anderson, Tiffany Anderson and Jace Anderson; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and multiple nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sisters, Julia James and Phyllis Woodside; and a brother, Larry Chapman.
Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Tamaroa Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville from noon-2 p.m. on Friday.
