Jean Marie Fankboner Piper, formerly of Salem

Jean Marie Fankboner Piper, of San Antonio and formerly of Salem, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at her home in San Antonio.

She was born on Oct. 18, 1919, in Salem to Hershel and Mamie Ashworth Fankboner.

On Dec. 7, 1941 she married Hugh D. Piper. She was a homemaker and a minister's wife.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Piper Haehlen of Lexington, Kentucky; sons Michael Piper of Louisville, Kentucky, Dave Piper of San Antonio and Rick Piper of Cocoa Beach, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tim Piper.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Roger-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem, with the Rev. Dave Piper officiating.

Burial will be at Harvey's Point Cemetery in Kell.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
