Barbara K. Derickson of Chester

Barbara K. Derickson, 71, of Chester, passed away at 7:57 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at her residence.

She was born to the late Clyde and Emma (nee Mathis) Jungewaelter on May 27, 1947 in Chester.

Barbara married Donald Derickson on Aug. 11, 1969 in Chester, Illinois; and he survives.

She worked as a secretary for Randolph County Abstract for 47 years. Barbara was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #3553 in Chester.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Derickson of Chester; one son, Jeff Derickson of Chester; one daughter, Kelly (Chris) Bednar of Zionsville, Ind.; stepson, David (Barb) Derickson of Perryville, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Ryker Bednar, Henley Bednar, Emma Derickson and Eli Derickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Jungewaelter.

It was Barbara's wish to be cremated.

A Memorial Mass will begin at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Chester, with the Very Reverend Eugene H. Wojcik, V.F. officiating.
