Elfie Dudley of Harrisburg

Elfie Dudley, age 95, of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 in St. Louis University Hospital.

She was born Jan. 6, 1923 in Harrisburg, to the late David Lee and Eva (Duncan) Duke. On Dec. 22, 1939 she married Aaron Dudley and he preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1986.

Elfie was an active member of the First Church of God and was a founding member of Saline Association for Retarded Citizens, which had its first organizational meeting on June 8, 1954.

She is survived by her son, David (Dawn) Dudley of Galatia; son-in-law, Darrell Walker of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Brent Walker of Southern Pines, North Carolina, Jaye (Alex) Shanks of Vienna, Shannon Dudley of Galatia, Allison (Bryan) McCabe of Galatia, and Matthew Dudley of Galatia; five great-grandchildren, Briley and Cooper Shanks of Vienna, Hollyn and Brynn McCabe of Galatia, and Aaron Walker of Southern Pines, North Carolina; a sister, Pauline Pence of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Elfie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jackie Dudley; daughter, Donna Jo Walker; sisters, June Jones and Naomi Dudley; and brothers, David "Buck" Duke, Gene Duke and Bill Duke.

Services for Elfie will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, with the Rev. Dan Masters officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
