Bonnie Branch of Du Quoin

DU QUOIN - Bonnie J. Branch, 74, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018 at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Bonnie was born on July 21, 1944 in Du Quoin, daughter to Alvie and Hazel (Thompson) Keller. In August 1984, she married Charles "Chuck" Branch in Hillsboro, and he survives.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin.

In her lifetime, she was a homemaker and a caregiver to many, and worked at Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin, as well as other local nursing homes and at Gold Plate in Du Quoin. Bonnie enjoyed caring for the elderly and giving to others and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Charles "Chuck" Branch of Du Quoin; a daughter, Tina Horner (David Boling) of Tamaroa; three sons, Brian (Tracy) Horner of Elkville, Paul (Lory) Horner of Du Quoin, and Carl Branch of DuQuoin; a brother, John Bird of Florida; eight grandchildren: Kristie Boling, David Eric Boling, Lisa Boling, Kenneth Boling, Mark Horner, Jaron Shockley, Briana Shockley and Robert Shockley; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Horner; a grandson, Jared Boling; and her twin brother, Ronnie Bird.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home in Du Quoin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 5 with the Rev. Joe Wagner officiating. Interment will be at Hallidayboro Cemetery, Hallidayboro.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 8-11 a.m. on Friday.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin, or Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Du Quoin.
