Dr. Wilson retires, Dr. Rubenacker takes over

ELDORADO - Longtime Eldorado dentist Dr. Loren Wilson stepped down from his practice Friday, and Dr. Emily Rubenacker is taking over Wilson's practice.

On Friday, the two dentists met to transfer Wilson's business to Rubenacker.

Wilson said he's enjoyed his 42 years in the dental business.

"I started the last week of July in 1976," Wilson said.

Born in Eldorado's Ferrell Hospital, Wilson grew up in Ridgway. He is a University of Illinois Dental School of Chicago graduate.

Rubenacker is from McLeansboro, where she currently lives. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Dental School in Alton.

"I've worked in this area for six years now," Rubenacker said.

Wilson said he's looking forward to enjoying his retirement, specifically "deer hunting, fishing, and playing with the grandkids. Also working in the garden."

He's not going to be out of the business completely, though. He'll still be assisting Rubenacker in her new practice.

"I'm retiring today, and on Monday I'll be back to work," he said, laughing, on Friday morning.

Rubenacker's office is at 1030 4th St., Eldorado, the same location Wilson has been practicing his entire career.
