Farrel G. Waite of Harrisburg
Farrel G. Waite, age 86, a resident of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:23 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Farrel was born Jan. 18, 1932 in Washington, Iowa, to the late Leslie F. and Lavenia (Jolly) Waite. On Nov. 19, 1950, Farrel married Wanda (Hall) and she survives.
Farrel was a heavy equipment operator, a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge, the Operating Engineers Local, UMWA and McKinley Avenue Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Waite of Harrisburg; son, Steven (Terese) Waite of Ridgefield, Connecticut; daughter, Marilyn J. (Taylor) Waite of Harrisburg; daughter, Glynda (Greg) Fulbright of Florida; son, Ryan Waite of Fort Smith, Arkansas; grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Olivia, Eric and Juliana Waite; Adam L. (Shauna) Taylor; A.J. (Jason) Fulbright; and Mitchell Waite; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Fulbright and Grace Jean Taylor; and one brother, Marion J. (Judy) Waite of Carrolton, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jerry and Dale Waite, and great-grandson Brantly Jason Fulbright.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery with military rites by the Harrisburg American Legion, VFW and Air Force Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel.
