Rosanne Capps of Harrisburg
Mrs. Rosanne Capps (nee Chambliss) passed peacefully at University of Indiana Health in Indianapolis on Aug. 31, 2018 at the age of 57.
Rosie is survived by her children, John Capps, Elizabeth Cook and Joshua Capps; siblings, Paula Miller of Benton, Kentucky, Stanley (Kathy) Chambliss of Henderson, Kentucky, and Gina Perkins of Clarksville, Tennessee; grandchildren Jonah Ray, Alex Taylor, Bailee Clifton, Chaiselyne Capps, David Capps, Dylan Owens and Evan Cook; many beloved nieces and nephews; and countless special friends, neighbors, and "add-a-kids."
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Eric Capps, and her parents.
Rosie was born on July 5, 1961 in Morganfield, Kentucky to David and Mary Chambliss.
She married John Capps, her high school sweetheart, in 1978. Her children remember Rosie as a caring mother who encouraged them to always work smarter, not harder, and to show compassion to everyone they met.
Rosie was known for her giving, nurturing spirit and her bright smile. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to roller derby events, and singing along to the radio.
She loved sunflowers, hummingbirds and being outdoors. Rosie was known as "Momma Capps" to many who she took in at their worst times and was happily the mom to anyone who needed one.
A come-and-go memorial service is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Harrisburg Presbyterian Annex. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rosie's life. The family has requested that everyone wear blue, Rosie's favorite color, to the service.
