Wanda Louise Perkins of Harrisburg
Wanda Louise Perkins, age 85, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Eldorado Rehab and Healthcare Center.
Wanda was born on March 31, 1933 in Eldorado, to the late Charles Everett and Eunice (Hooper) Wilson. She married Denzil D. Perkins on Sept. 23, 1950 and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1993.
Wanda was a homemaker and worked off and on as a clerk for Weight Watchers. She was a member of Gaskins City Missionary Baptist Church. Wanda enjoyed sewing, playing pinochle and going to church.
Wanda is survived by two children, Denzil (Debbie) Perkins II of Harrisburg, and Rhonda (Greg) Tanner of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four grandchildren, Thomas (Toni) Perkins of Marion, Illinois; Kari (Seth) Arnett of Harrisburg; Byron Tanner and Rhys Tanner, both of Virginia Beach, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Darnell, John Darnell III and Tylar Duffee, all of Harrisburg; brother, Charles Eugene (Linda) Wilson of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband Denzil; great-great granddaughter, Trinity Jewell; brother, Johnny Wilson; and sisters, Agnes Simmons and Pauline Mortise.
Graveside services will be held for Wanda Perkins beginning at noon on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. The Rev. Mike Smith will officiate.
Prior to the service, visitation will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. on Sunday at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
