Theda J. Miller of Ridgway

Theda J. Miller, age 84, longtime Ridgway resident, passed on from this life, Aug. 6, 2018 in Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado. Theda was born in Harrisburg on Oct. 2, 1933 to the late Virgil and Cartha M. (Harrawood) Lovellette. She was a Harrisburg High School graduate of the class of 1950 and attended SIU. On June 6, 1952 she married J.C. Miller, who survives.

Theda worked at the First National Bank in Harrisburg, had a childcare center at her home for many years and was an incredible homemaker all of her life. She was a very faithful member of the Ridgway First Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher, the Bible School Director for many years, and in the Glory Beams class at church. She was a 50-plus-year Eastern Star member in Ridgway and also a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She was always a very caring, kind and loving person. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by many.

Theda is survived by her husband J.C. Miller; one son, Stanley (Sharon) Miller of Ridgway; one daughter, Susan J. Miller (Denny Barker) of Somerset, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew) Duffy, Kyle (Tracie) Fritschle, Andrew Fritschle, Natasha (Erich) Moberly, Ashlei (Brent) Burdine and Courtney Barker; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas and Jacey Duffy, Ethan and Annabelle Fritschle, Elsa, Halston and Mazie Moberly, Kennedy, Cross and Ezra Cohen Burdine, Jayden Cantrell, Bentlee Barker and Adrianna Fisher; and one brother, Duane (Edna) Lovellette.

Visitation for Theda will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018 at the Cox & Son Funeral Home in Ridgway. Her Eastern Star funeral will be at 7 p.m.

Funeral services for Theda will start at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 at the funeral home. The Rev. J.B. Gates, the Rev. Russell Helton and the Rev. David Auxier will officiate and interment will immediately follow in the Lindale Cemetery near Eldorado.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ridgway First Baptist Church, the St. Andrew School in Murphysboro, or Pulaski County Alzheimer's Respite Center, Somerset, Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
