Kara L.G. Knop of Chester

Kara L.G. Knop, 17, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:22 p.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Perry County, Missouri.

She was born to Rick and Sheri (nee Rodgers) Knop on June 26, 2001 in Sparta, Illinois.

Kara would have been a senior this year at Chester High School. She had been a member of the National Honor Society, Chester High School Band and the Debate Team. She had also worked as a waitress and hostess at Reids' Harvest House in Chester. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include her parents, Sheri (Travis) Baughman and Rick Knop; maternal grandmother, Rosilea Leverett; step-grandparents, David and Melba Sudmeyer and Michael and Kay Baughman; four siblings, Jada Knop, Haley Sudmeyer, Oscar Baughman and Parker Schnoeker; five aunts and uncles, Jesse Doerr, Glenda (Donald) Wade, Deanna (Scott) Eguires, Michelle Rodgers, and Michael (Andrea) Baughman; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Georgia Lindenberg; grandfather, Walter Lindenberg; and uncle, Bryan Fogle.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Saturday, July 28, at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, 839 Lehmen Drive, Chester, with Dr. Mike Fogerson officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home.
