Frances Rose Marie (Moore) Shockley, formerly of Benton

Frances Rose Marie (Moore) Shockley was born Nov. 17, 1940, in Benton and entered eternal rest July 3, 2018, in Oklahoma City, Okla., surrounded by her family.

BodyCopy: She married the love of her life, James Monroe Shockley, Nov. 26, 1958, at the Shockley family home in Benton.

BodyCopy: After marriage to James, they spent several years in Chicago, and upon his transfer from O'Hare Field, he took her on the biggest adventure of their lives - north to Alaska! They spent three years in Cold Bay, Alaska, on the Aleutian Chain, and in 1972 they moved to Anchorage and spent 30 years making it their home.

BodyCopy: Marie enjoyed road tripping, which often included riding Amtrak, with her husband across the United States, visiting her sister and nieces in Des Moines, Iowa, her brothers, nieces, and nephews in Illinois, and spending the summers back in Alaska after retirement.

BodyCopy: Marie is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Shockley; her children, Janita (Garth) Griffith and Dwight (Leah) Shockley; grandsons Collin and Mitchell Shockley; brother Charles (Pat) Moore, sisters-in-law Diane Moore, Shirley Moore, and Sandy Care, many nieces and nephews and countless beloved friends.

BodyCopy: She was preceded in death by her parents Dwight and Bonnie (Shaw) Moore; her sister, Juanita (Moore) Scrutchfield; and brothers RZ, Frank and Jesse Moore.

BodyCopy: Marie attended The Bridge Assembly of God in Mustang, Okla., and enjoyed volunteering at Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and Compassionate Cooks.

BodyCopy: In lieu of flowers the family is asking that a monetary or food donation be given to the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry ministry of the Bridge Assembly of God, 1116 W. State Highway 152, Mustang, OK 73064.
