Mildred Gibson-Bean Walden of Harrisburg
On May 29, 1934 in Dekoven, Union County, Kentucky, Mildred was born to Winfred Gibson and Christine Fletcher.
She shared her life with her sisters and brothers, Jesse Gibson, Charles Gibson, Mary Gibson-Roberson and Gene Gibson. A few years later in life, Mildred was blessed with a younger sister, Henrietta (Sissie) Ratley-Disney. She was fortunate to have wonderful sister-in-law, Juanita (Gene) Gibson in her life. In her adult life, she then was united with two more brothers, Donald Carroll and Carlos Carroll.
Mildred married Howard Bean-Walden in Arkansas in 1950. Together they traveled the country as Howard was in the United States Air Force. She gave birth to three children, Debbie, Suzy and Jonah.
Debbie married Gary Crabtree. They have two sons, Gary Jr. and David. Gary Jr. has two children, Maddison and Paige. David married Alice and they have three children, Makenzie, Emmie and Jordan. Mildred also has two great-great granddaughters, Paisley and Lily.
Suzy married Ink Sucharitakul. They gave Mildred one grandson, Andy, who is married to Kim. Andy has two children, Bailey and Trevor.
Jonah married Denise Lipinski-Gibson. They have three children together, Scott, Kimmie and Jacob. Scott and Beth have four children, Sommer, Austin, Dakota and Praize. Kimmie and Jeff have two children, Nora and Winston.
Mildred's children and grandchildren were her life.
Throughout her life, she worked at many jobs, from a school cafeteria worker to a manager of a store. Many will know her from her hard work as a waitress at the Fountains Restaurant in Eldorado. She then worked for Huck's and Amoco, working as the manager for a number of their stores. Mildred then obtained a CDL and drove a school bus for the Harrisburg School District. Finally before retiring, she worked with her daughter at Suzie's Laundry.
Along with her siblings, husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Mildred has many nieces and nephews who hold a special place in her heart. Even though they are spread out all over the country, she kept them in her thoughts and was in contact with many of them.
On Thursday July 5, 2018 at 10:26 a.m., Mildred left this world and went to join the family members that she has missed for so long.
