Stephen Donald Karns of Rocky Branch

Stephen Donald Karns, age 61, of the Rocky Branch community, passed away at 8:08 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Stephen was born on June 19, 1956 in Eldorado, Illinois to Donald L. and Rita "Mickey" (Hines) Karns. Stephen worked his whole adult life in the restaurant and food business and he most recently was a Division Purchasing Manager for Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute.

Stephen was a member of the Saline County Board and he was also a counselor for Egyptian Health Department. he enjoyed beekeeping.

Stephen is survived by his parents, Donald and Rita "Mickey" Karns of Rocky Branch; brother, Michael E. (Marna) Karns of Rocky Branch; sister, Rita-Dawn McMillan of Harrisburg; brother, Christopher (Linda) Karns of Equality; seven nieces and nephews, Alysha Karns of Cambria, Makayla Karns and Phoenix Karns of Rocky Branch, Jordan (Ron) Von Kotz of Marion, Travis Warren of Harrisburg, Kaylee (Matt) Rice of Harrisburg, Dalton Karns of Equality; and three great nieces, Jayla, Averie and Anastasia Claire.

Stephen was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, the Rev. Hobert and Lillie (Brown) Karns and maternal grandparents, Edward and Judy (Holt) Hines.

Funeral services for Stephen Donald Karns will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Marshall Glover will officiate and burial will follow in Cottage Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel.
