Wanda Dunn of Carrier Mills
CARRIER MILLS - Wanda Dunn, a resident of Carrier Mills, died at 12:10 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Wanda was born on Dec. 12, 1927 to the late Curtis Harris and Savannah Ashworth Harris in the rural area of Stonefort in Williamson County.
She was a graduate of Carrier Mills High School where she was valedictorian of her graduating class.
She worked during her lifetime at O'Keefe Lumber Company, The Daily Register and the Saline County Treasurer's office. She was a member of the Carrier Mills First Baptist Church.
She married Leo Dunn on June 30, 1956 at the Indian Camp Baptist Church in Williamson County and he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2002.
Wanda is survived by two daughters, Holly (Alton Mayes) Dunn of Harrisburg and Tammy Bebout of Vienna; three grandsons, Mathew (Debbie) Bebout, Dr. Justin Thorpe and Jeddidiah Diefenbach; 12 great-grandchildren, Tyler Bebout, Alexis Bebout, Jeremiah Walls, Levi Bebout, Anna Bebout, Judah Bebout, Tyler Lightner, Trenton Thorpe, Wyyat Diefenbach, Langsten Diefenbach, Paige Binkley and Taylor Binkley; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Curtis Harris; and two sisters, Iris Turner and Ruth Tobe.
Funeral services will be held on at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9 at Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Her grandson, Mathew Bebout, will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Salem Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family after 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the Type 1 Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
