Dorothy Zelasko, formerly of Tamaroa
Dorothy Zelasko, 90, of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Tamaroa, passed away at 9:55 a.m., Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Lake Harris Health Center in Leesburg.
Dorothy had been a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois and she had been church organist for many years. Dorothy was a graduate of Warren Township High School. She had worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone. Dorothy had cooked for weddings and been an accordion player in a polka band.
She was born Sept. 16, 1927 at West Olive, Michigan, the daughter of Frank Anton and Rose Marie (Hlavoc) Mourek.
She married Antone R. Zelasko on May 11, 1946 at Du Bois and he preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1991.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony R. (Carol) Zelasko of Du Bois, and Robert J. (Mary) Zelasko of Tamaroa; one daughter, Carolyn A. (Jerry) Baker of Leesburg, Florida; six grandchildren, James Zelasko, Ben (Cassie) Zelasko, Rebecca Hardekopf, Amanda (Perry) Morris, Nicole Baker and Nicholas (Hannah) Baker; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Frank Mourek, Robert Mourek and an infant brother.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, June 11 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Du Bois with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday, also at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery in Du Bois.
Friends may make memorials to St. Theresa Altar Society, Du Bois, St. Charles Church, Du Bois, or St. Charles Cemetery, Du Bois. They will be accepted at the funeral home.
