Virginia Wisniewski of Tamaroa
Virginia D. Wisniewski, 97, of Tamaroa, passed away at 3:20 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at her residence.
Virginia had been a wedding dress seamstress. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa and was a devoted Catholic. She enjoyed taking care of her chickens, rabbits and calves. Her hobbies included quilting, making loom rugs and gardening. Virginia was known as the angel food cake lady.
She ws born July 12, 1920 in Tamaroa, the daughter of John and Dorothy (Kurharski) Szczeblewski.
She married Joe Vukadinovich and he preceded her in death in May 1957. She then married Frank Wisniewski on June 1, 1968 in Christopher and he preceded her in death in April 1987.
She is survived by three children: Danny Vukadinovich and wife, Lana, of Mulkeytown, David Vukadinovich and wife, Sandy, of Christopher, and Pat Hinds and husband, David, of St. Louis; seven grandchildren: Colleen Vukadinovich Sample of Mulkeytown, Danea Shovan and husband, Tony, of Mulkeytown, Paula Vukadinovich of Olney, Dana Gregory and husband, Lloyd, of Thompsonville, Randy Vukadinovich and wife, Sonya, of Defiance, Ohio, Kate Yee and husband, Alex, of St. Louis, and Chris Hinds of St. Louis; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three children, Edward Lee Wisniewski, Marilyn Wisniewski and David Wisniewski; three brothers, Ray Szczeblewski, Joe Szczeblewski and Milford "Mickey" Szczeblewski; and one sister, Mildred Fisher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.
Friends may call from 8-9:45 a.m., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.
Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
