Darrell Foster Powell of Harrisburg

Darrell Foster Powell, age 80 of Harrisburg, passed away at 10:58 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Darrell was born in Carrier Mills to the late Floyd and Thelma (Foster) Powell. On July 20, 1960 he married Nancy Davis and she survives.

Darrell was a retired lineman for Ameren CIPS. He was a Navy veteran serving from 1955 to 1958.

Surviving family members include his wife, Nancy Powell of Harrisburg; three children, Wendy (Pervis) Ellis of Harrisburg; Russell (Leslie) Powell of Mount Vernon, Indiana and Randall Powell of Harrisburg; grandchildren Jessica (Jess) Moore of Galatia, Cacy Ellis of Harrisburg, Erin (Clayton) Gulley of Carrier Mills, Jonathan Powell of Mount Vernon, Indiana and David and Benjamin Powell of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Rory and Junie Moore; and four nieces, Becky O'Brien, Connie Oliver, Terry Wynn and Chris Sanders.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Deloris Parish.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Billy Dye Jr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 at Reed Funeral Chapel.

Burial will follow at a later date.
