Bobby Dean Yost of Marion
MARION - Bobby Dean Yost, 80, of Marion, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Reflections of Herrin.
Bobby was born on Feb. 13, 1938 in Marion to William Lloyd and Ella (Kendall) Yost. He married Shirley A. Cobb on Aug. 15, 1958 in Johnston City. She preceded him in death on Oct. 25, 2011.
Bobby was a retired firefighter for the Marion Fire Department for more than 20 years. He also owned and operated his own construction business, Yost Construction, and trucking business.
Bobby enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting for squirrels, deer, rabbit and quail and fishing for crappie, bluegill or catfish on the river near Golconda. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed collecting hats, raising dogs, watching horse races and drinking Orange Crush. He will be missed by his beloved family and close friends.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kim (Jeff) Schroeder of Marion and Joanna (Tim) Parker of Escondido, California; grandson Lee (Katie) Schroeder of Marion; and great-grandchildren Kaydin and Kami Schroeder of Marion.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister JoAnn McNeil, and brother William Lloyd Yost, Jr.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 11 at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. The Rev. Kerry Cox will officiate. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the gravesite. Memorial arrangements were made at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 N. Market St., Marion, IL 62959.
