Ann Karayiannis of Carbondale

Ann Karayiannis, 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Ann was born Nov. 7, 1948, in Charleston, the daughter of George and Mary (Schmidt) Cotter.

She married Fotois "Frank" Karayiannis Dec. 24, 1971, in Chicago. They shared more than 46 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Fotois "Frank" Karayiannis of Carbondale; children James and wife Haley Karayiannis, Greggory and wife Alicia Karayiannis, and Andrew Karayiannis; grandchildren;Gabriella, Tyler and Fotoula Karayiannis, all of Carbondale; and many other loving family and dear friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Cotter.

Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25 at Saint Francis Xavier Church of Carbondale with Father Robert Flannery officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Huffman Harker Walker Funeral Home, 112 S. Poplar St. in Carbondale.

Memorials may be made in remembrance to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
