Charles J. Seagraves of Harrisburg

Charles J. Seagraves, age 97 of Harrisburg, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Charles was born on Oct. 14, 1920 in Eldorado to the late Easton and Ethel (Ratley) Seagraves. On Sept. 25, 1942 he married Juanita D. Seagraves and she preceded him in death on March 20, 2015.

He was a member of the Eldorado American Legion and Mizpah General Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Surviving family members include his son, Gilbert Seagraves of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Brian Seagraves of Athens, Georgia, Joshua Seagraves of St. Louis, Missouri, Brandon Seagraves of Peoria, Illinois and Jennifer Pennington of Dexter, Missouri; sister Louise Gwaltney of Carmi, Illinois; brother Clarence Seagraves of Metropolis, Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Charla Sue Seagraves and six brothers and sisters.
