Larry D. VanHoy of Harrisburg

Larry D. VanHoy, 75, of 120 S. Land St., Harrisburg, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. The Rev. Harl Cockrum will officiate. Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Mr. VanHoy was born on Sept. 29, 1942 in Harrisburg to the late John and Alma Jean (Hall) VanHoy.

He married the former Judy Wells on Aug. 31, 1963 and she preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1998.

Mr. VanHoy graduated from Carrier Mills-Stonefort High School and later attended Murray State University for two years. He worked as a coal miner for many years and was also employed by the Carrier Mills Water Department until his retirement.

Mr. VanHoy is survived by a sister, Deborah (Mike) Summers, of Paducah; a grandchild, Payton VanHoy, of Metropolis; a niece, Autumn Summers, of Paducah and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy VanHoy, and a son, David VanHoy.
