Marla Rovena Willsey of Eldorado
Marla Rovena Willsey, 71, of 1120 Perkins Road, Eldorado, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at Palestine Cemetery south of Carrier Mills. All family and friends should gather at the cemetery, where the Rev. Roger Lyons will officiate.
Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hooves Animal Humane Society, 10804 McConnell Road, Woodstock, IL 60098.
Marla was born on Oct. 4, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Thomas and Rovena (Duncan) Ingram. She married Victor Willsey on Dec. 27, 1964 and he survives.
She was co-owner of Wilsey Way Stables for over 25 years, where she bred and raced thoroughbreds. She was involved with the Thoroughbred Rescue Program. She also was co-owner of Willsey Way Mowing Service. She was very active in the outdoors. She was a lifelong lover of cats and dogs and enjoyed poetry very much.
Marla is survived by her husband, Victor Willsey, of Eldorado; two sons, Jay and Louise (Killman) Willsey of Carrier Mills and Duncan (Benjie) Willsey of Harrisburg; and grandson, Christopher Willsey, of Harrisburg.
