Jack D. Myers of Harrisburg
HARRISBURG - Jack D. Myers, 82, passed away at 4:02 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, in Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.
He was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Harrisburg to James "Tillford" and Rhoda (White) Myers.
Jack was a retired St. Louis police officer. He also worked at the St. Louis Zoo as a zoo ranger and served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of the American Legion and an elder member of the St. Louis Police Veterans Association.
Jack also was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed shooting trap.
Survivors include three children, Chris Myers, Kevin Myers and Shana Myers, all of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Abigail Loggerman, Duncan Carruthers and London Hammett, all of St. Louis, and Tiffaney Huttsell of St. Charles, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Rowland and Baileigh Binger; companion, Ann Parks of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James H. Myers; son, Jackie Myers Jr.; and half sister, Zenola Scott.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with Pastor Jerry Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Bankston Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the funeral home.
