Jerrel Clay 'Jerry' Mulvey, formerly of Harrisburg

HARRISBURG - Jerrel Clay "Jerry" Mulvey, 68, of Benton, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 15, 1949, in Harrisburg to Jerrel and Betty (Potts) Mulvey.

Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He also was a member of Moose Lodge 795 in West Frankfort.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Mulvey; sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Michelle Humphrey of West Frankfort, Clayton and Kenishia Mulvey of Johnston City, Jason and Andrea Mulvey of Eldorado and Ron and Melissa Humphrey of Newburg, Missouri; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Deon Redmon of Benton and SuAnn and Warren Mitchell of Eldorado; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mack Lane of Eldorado; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, in Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Pastor Larry Hallman officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Military rites were accorded by American Legion Post 1961 of Orient, VFW Post 5764 of West Frankfort and American Legion Post 177 of Zeigler.
