Raymond Smith 'Bo' Linzee of Du Quoin

Raymond Smith "Bo" Linzee III, 73, of Du Quoin, passed away at 4:15 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at his residence.

Bo had been owner and operator of Linzee Insurance Agency, the oldest independent insurance agency in the state of Illinois. He was the third generation owner. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Bo served three years in the United States Marine Corps. He attended the Ouachita Baptist College in Arkansas and Southern Illinois University. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion.

He was born April 13, 1944 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Raymond Smith and Eula (Berg) Linzee, Jr. He married Ethel Rida Laborte on Dec. 23, 2010 at Du Quoin, IL and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two children - Raymond Smith Linzee IV and wife Sandra of Wheatland, WY and Wendee Linzee of Du Quoin; three grandchildren - Talion Miller of Du Quoin, Raymond Smith Linzee V and Kanon Linzee, both of Wheatland, WY; one sister - Diana Frederick and husband Charles of Boynton Beach, FL; and two nephews - Matthew Frederick and Benjamin Frederick, both of Boynton Beach, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Bo's request, cremation services were held. There will be no public visitation or funeral services. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
