Clara Ruth (Sills) Tripp of Elkville
Clara Ruth (Sills) Tripp, 85, of Elkville, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at her residence.
Ruth was a homemaker and had worked at Turco Manufacturing in Du Quoin for 15 years. She had also worked at the nursing home and in Home Health Care.
She was a member of the Elkville Christian Church in Elkville, IL.
Ruth had a passion for dancing. An enormous number of dancing friends will miss her dearly.
She was born May 4, 1932 at Hallidayboro, IL, the daughter of Ira and Eva (Akins) Tripp. She married Tom Sills in 1949, and he preceded her in death in 2000.
She is survived by two children - Donna Stice (Steve Hudson) of Murphysboro and Gene Sills and wife Donna of Du Quoin; a very special man and companion - Floyd Castleman of West Frankfort; three brothers - George Tripp and wife Mabel of South Carolina, Bill Tripp of Christopher, Jack Tripp and wife Faye of Anna; sister - Mary Stewart and husband Joe of Elkville; six grandchildren - Robert Shearer of Du Quoin, Nyla McMurray and husband Dan of Du Quoin, Tommy Leathers of Oklahoma, Jason Leathers of Kansas, Hope Penrod and husband Jay of Missouri and Amanda Webb and husband Mike of McLeansboro; 14 great grandchildren - Peyton Vaughn, Grace McMurray, Brycen McMurray, Carter Leathers, Sierra Faivre, McGuire Leathers, Ryan Leathers, Jaidyn Penrod, Luna Elder, Dustin Pinner, Austin Pinner, Deidra Lusby, Levi Flenner and Jeanette Lusby; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Ann Lueker and 13 siblings.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the Elkville Christian Church in Elkville, with Bro. Jerry Aken officiating.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church. Burial will be in the Hallidayboro Cemetery at Hallidayboro, IL.
Friends may make memorials to the Elkville Christian Church, which will be accepted at the church or at the funeral home. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
