Shirley Alice Moore Witt, formerly of Gallatin County

GALLATIN COUNTY - Shirley Alice Moore Witt, 82, of Lynn Haven, Florida, a 48-year resident of Lexington, Kentucky, and also formerly of Gallatin County, passed away Oct. 20, 2017, after a long illness.

Shirley was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Gallatin County to Frank and Alice (Hise) Morten.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Debbie (Jerry) Parnell, Steve (Krissy) Moore and Sherri (Anthony) Picciano; grandchildren, Danielle, Jonathan, Anthony, Oscar, Emmanuel and Jack; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Olivia; and brother, Joe Morten.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Jack E. Moore; second husband, Donald Ray Witt; son, Jeffrey Moore; and siblings, Gracie Ellis, Charles Morten and Theresa Thompson.

Shirley was a longtime member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Singing Saints Choir. She had a heartfelt love for Church Under the Bridge.

She also was a longtime member of Do-Si-Do Square Dance Club.

Burial with private services will be in the spring in Gallatin County.
