Obituary for Kenneth "Kenny" Taggart
<strong>KENNETH “KENNY” TAGGART, 91</strong>, of Chester, IL, passed away at 7:34 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017 at his home in Chester, Illinois.
He was born to the late John and Clara (nee: Jostes) Taggart on February 4, 1925 in Campbell Hill.
Kenny was of the Presbyterian Faith.
He was a retired corrections officer at Menard Correctional Center and farmer.
Kenny was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Alva Courier Post No. 487 in Chester, Illinois Police Association and AFSCME.
Survivors include his wife Wilma Taggart, Chester; one daughter: Deborah (Jim) Morris, Perryville; four grandchildren: Brian (Meghan) Ellis, Perryville, Mo., Michael (Casey) Ellis, Perryville, Mo., Shawn (Brandi) Morris, Perryville, Mo., Jason Morris, Perryville, Mo. and seven great-grandchildren.
He was receded in death by parents and one son, Kenneth Richard Taggart.
It was Kenny’s wish to donate his remains to science.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the American Legion Hall in Chester.
