Obituary for Andy O. Clarkson Jr.

ANDY O. CLARKSON, JR., 79, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:27 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Shiloh, Illinois.

He was born to the late Andy O. Sr. and Anna Marie (nee: Knop) Clarkson on August 9, 1937 in Larned, Kansas.

He married Carolyn Pickens on December 16, 1962 in Garfield, Kansas. She survives.

Andy was a retired guard at Chester Mental Health Center.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. He was a past president of Chester Eagles Aerie #3252 and a member of the Knights of Columbus, #3790, American Legion Alva Courier Post #487 and Elks Lodge #1629 in Chester.

Andy was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include Wife Carolyn Clarkson, Chester; Two daughters - Melanie (Kenny) Homan, Chester; Tanya Clarkson, Peoria; Three grandchildren - Arien Wright (Jacob South), Randy Pender, Travis Pender; one great-grandchild Niaya Pender; Nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, one daughter, Michelle Lee Wright, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral Service will be held at11 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2016 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester with Deacon Don Berry officiating.

Interment is in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Illinois.

Visitation Thursday, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m to 11 a.m. at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois.
