Obituary for Gary Eggemeyer

GARY DALE EGGEMEYER, 65, of Walsh, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 17 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born to the late Adolph C., Jr. and Wilma (nee: Kloth) Eggemeyer on September 16, 1950 in Red Bud, Illinois.

He married Donna M. Petrowske on November 30, 2000 in Walsh. She survives along with his two daughters, Kathy and Kris, who he loved very much.

Gary worked at Menard Penitentiary for 30 years and retired as a lieutenant.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois and the Chester Eagles Aerie No. 3252.

Gary was an avid hunter, gardener and enjoyed 4-wheel riding. His pride and joy was his farm where he and his wife resided.

The Eggemeyer farm has been in the family for over 100 years. This is where Gary was the happiest, living on "Walsh Time," as he often called it.

Survivors include his Wife Donna Eggemeyer, Walsh, IL; 2 Daughters - Kathleen Eggemeyer, York, Maine, Kristine (Ryan) Frost, Phoenix, Ariz.; 2 Sisters - Lois Meyer, Maryville, Janet Smith, Marion; 2 Brothers - Caroll Eggemeyer, St. Louis, Mo., Dwain Eggemeyer, Collinsville; Nieces, Nephew, Cousins and Friends.

Preceded in death by: Parents and 1 Brother - Earl Eggemeyer

Funeral Service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois with Rev. Tim Landskroener officiating.

Interment is in Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville.

Memorials are to be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Chester, Illinois, St. Mary Catholic Church, Chester and Ellis Grove, Illinois.
