$86,000 Charity Ball
<pre class="aLF-aPX-K0-aPE aLF-aPX-aLK-ayr-auR">The DuQuoin Youth Club's "Party at the Gatsby's" 28th Charity Ball and Auction which was held last Saturday was a huge success, raising over $86,000! The event featured hors d'oeuvres, dinner and desserts prepared by Ricky Rover Rooter Roasters, Cathy Chaney's Catering, Kalin's Café, Mark's Bakery and DHS Foods Class. The evening's entertainment was provided by Jeff Wisely, Chris Slone, "Downstate Music Company" band, ending the evening with DJ Chris Harris and Trey Ford. The host for the evening was Keenan Rice, who kept the nearly 500 guests informed of the Silent Auction and various raffles throughout the evening while Steve McGriff and company conducted a spirited Live Auction.
Scott and Natasha Ford won the "Pick-of-the-Litter" Raffle and chose the Live Auction item: A Week 's Vacation in a 2-bedroom luxury condominium in beautiful Playa del Carmen which was donated by Rosie and George Naumovski of Kabinet House USA! Tracy Fenton won the Gun Raffle. The last three contestants in the Draw Down Raffle chose to split the Grand Prize of $3,000. Those guests winning $1,000 each were Tim Robinson, Ruth Mathis and Christie Holmes. The winners of the Cash Card Raffle were: Carla Mathis - $500, Jill Feltmeyer - $200 and Ryan Williams - $100.
