Obituary for Richard D. Feuerhammer

PERCY - Richard D. Feuerhammer, 59, passed away at 11:34 a.m. on Friday January 15, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family after his long battle with cancer.

He was born in Harvard, Illinois on July 26, 1956 to Duane and Mary (Trout) Feuerhammer. Richard married Cheryl Linders on January 12, 1980 at the First Baptist Church of Percy.

Richard worked as a supervisor at Gilster-Mary Lee in Steeleville for 30 years.

He enjoyed every day he had with all his children and grandchildren.

They all helped him with his hobby of raising rabbits and chickens. He also got some good fishing in when he could.

Richard is survived by his wife, Cheryl; Mother, Mary Eggemeyer of Walworth, WI; Sons: Charles Ryan Feuerhammer of Fort Madison, Iowa, Christopher Linders, Steeleville; Daughters: Tiffany (Bob) Presswood, Steeleville, Amanda Feuerhammer, Percy; Grandchildren: Ashley, Blake, Cayla and Devin Feuerhammer, Richard, Sydney and Kristin Presswood, Ray, Josh, Austin, Travis, Katelyn and Matthew Linders; Special Family: Ronell, Nick and Melissa.

He is also survived by Brothers and Sisters: Debbie Babieczko of Gwinn, Michigan, Jerry (Deann) Peters of Beloit, Wis., Polly (Scott) Rathbun of Rhinelander, Wis., Tom (Simone) Peters of St. Roberts, Mo., Gene (Christina) Peters of Lake Geneva, WI and Bill (Wende) Linders of Pinckneyville and Lots of Nieces and Nephews who are greatly loved.

Richard is preceded in death by his father, Duane Feuerhammer; Special fathers, Harold Peters and Russell Eggemeyer; Sister, Barbie Hanson; Brother-in-law, Gary Babieczko; Niece, Hillary (Babieczko) Goldman; Daughter-in-law, Brenda Linders and Special Family Friend, Ferron Hill.

Special thanks to Carrie Jo, Deb and Sherry for caring so much for Richard.

Richard's wishes were for cremation and a private memorial service will be at a later date.

Memorial may be made to the Oncology Department at Chester Memorial Hospital or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
