Paul Gene Woodside

Paul Gene "Woody" Woodside, age 87, of Du Quoin, Ill., passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin, Ill.

Paul was born on Oct. 20, 1926 in Du Quoin, Ill., a son to William G. and Ocie Ola (Coffel) Woodside. Paul worked as a club manager at the American Legion Post #647 in Du Quoin, Ill. for 20 years. He also worked in Saudi Arabia for Aramco Oil Refinery for 20 years. Paul proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed working for the local American Legion and VFW and he also enjoyed taking care of his pets and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by four children- Matt Woodside of Stuttgart, Germany; Daniel and Melissa Woodside of St. George, Utah; Mark and Lynn Woodside of Du Quoin, Ill. and Paula and Jerry Gathof of Pass Christian, Miss. and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ocie Ola, four brothers and one sister.

Paul's wishes were to be cremated with a private family service to be held at a later date.
