Fay V. Franklin

Fay V. Franklin, 92, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in Fenton, Mo.

Fay had worked at Brown Shoe for many years. She was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Nov. 11, 1921 at Murphysboro, Ill., the daughter of Ogle and Ethel Mae (Tyler) Franklin.

She is survived by one sister - Fern Hamburger of Du Quoin, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters - Norma Franklin and Kathleen Owens and two brothers - Benjamin Franklin and Glen Franklin.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Gaylen Holden and Rev. Dennis Fitzsimmons officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from Noon until the time of service at the church on Thursday.

Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Murphysboro.

Friends may make memorials to the Gospel Assembly Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
